The days following birth are a sacred period - a time for rest, healing foods, and love.

Ayurvedic postpartum care is designed to harmonize the new mother’s mind & body. The wisdom of Ayurveda focuses on rest, warm oil body therapies, nourishing foods, and deep connected care by "mothering" the mother, allowing for rejuvenating healing.

  • An Ayurvedic Doula or AyurDoula comes to your home during the first 6-8 weeks following birth to care to nourish and care for you, mama!

    A new mother is psycho-physiologically just as delicate as her new baby and requires love, nourishment, rest and care, just as much as her baby.

  • Ayurvedic postpartum services offer restorative support for the new mama with therapies that help her rebalance her nervous system, rekindle her digestive fire, and boost energy levels. This allows mama to heal from pregnancy and birth and focus on loving and bonding with her new baby.

  • Yes, we offer payment plans! We are an approved provider for Carrot workplace benefits. We are also a provider on BeHerVillage, which is a free gift registry for care for mamas, so you can crowd-fund your care!

MAMA HEALING PACKAGES

ᾹNANDA MAMA

  • ᾹNANDA means bliss and we bring the bliss to your home once a week for a 3.5-hour visit. Each in-home visit includes:

    • Freshly prepared, 4-course Ayurvedic meal (12-15 servings)

    • 2 hours of in home postpartum care including herbal infused baths, uterine moxa, yoni steams, and more!

    • A 75-minute Abhyanga warm oil massage with Bengkung or Faja Belly wrapping

    • Support also includes teaching of Ayurvedic infant massage, light housework, pet care, and ongoing phone/text support from time of hire until end of contract

  • Additional items included in this package:

    • Your choice of a Labor Prep Massage (done at 38+ weeks) or a Closing Ceremony

    • A 60 minute, in-home prenatal consultation

    • An ayurvedic meal delivered to you after birth that includes nourishing porridge and herbal tea

    • AND a Postpartum Recovery Box that includes tea & tea ball, sitz bath mix, hot water bottle for womb healing, WishGarden’s AfterEase, and Lana Care nursing pads

    Abhyanga Massage

    Ayurvedic warm oil massage using herbal infused sesame oil to soothe the senses and calm the mind.

    Ceremonial Bath

    A combination of nourishing coconut milk, flowers, and herbs to relax and rejuvenate your body. Enjoy as a relaxing foot bath or tub soak.

  • Yoni Steaming

    Herbal infused vaginal steam bath that stimulates circulation and brings nourishment and healing to your pelvis.

  • Belly Binding

    Bengkung or Faja belly binding can be supportive to promote healthy posture during breast feeding, encourage stomach muscles to strengthen, and aid the uterus back to optimal position.

  • Uterine Moxa

    Chinese Mugwort is a special herb that aids in the postpartum healing process. Heated herbs are applied over your lower abdomen to encourage warmth and healing.

  • Ayurvedic Meals

    Organic and freshly prepared meals using healing, ayurvedic spices catered to your specific postpartum needs.

Individual Offerings to Create Your Own Care

  • This rite of passage honors the transition from maiden to mother. Also known as “Closing of the Bones” the purpose of the ceremony is to close the energetic doorways that were opened during the birth, to nurture the new mother so that she may nurture her family and to allow space for processing the events of the birth.

    The 2-hour Closing Ceremony includes:

    • Floral coconut milk foot bath with sugar foot scrub

    • A sacred “Closing Ceremony” where the birth process is symbolically closed by wrapping the mother in rebozo scarfs.

    • Application of warming salve and Maya abdominal therapy

    • Singing bowl sound healing

    • Motherhood card reading

    • Creation of meaningful altar

    • Intention setting

    • Tea preparation

    • A safe space to process and be witnessed through transition

  • Looking for an extra pair of hands and some love? Hourly Care together includes your choice of:

    • Herbal bath & foot bath treatments, sitz baths, yoni steaming, uterine moxa and other warming treatments to warm mama

    • Bengkung or Faja belly binding (add $70 for teaching and bind)

    • Hands-on support with baby so the mother can rest, bathe, or have self-care time

    • Teaching of Ayurvedic infant massage

    • Physical, emotional, and informational support regarding the postpartum period

    • Breastfeeding Assistance/Referral if needed

    • Teaching of Ayurvedic infant massage

    • Light Housekeeping (small load of laundry or dishes & plant care)

    • Pet care (walks, feeding, cuddles)

  • In-home, 75-minute Abhyanga, warm oil massage.

    This traditional ayurvedic treatment uses warm, herb-infused oil and combines light to medium pressure with methodical, lymphatic draining strokes. It is highly nourishing for the tissues of the body and has the ability to calm the mind.

    Optional Add-On: Bengkung Belly Bind session where I will teach you and/or your postpartum care partner to bind you, the new mother. An organic muslin cotton belly bind is included with this service.

  • A custom menu designed for nourishing mama during postpartum and beyond.

    This offering includes a four-course meal delivery (12-15 servings, packaged in 6-1 quart jars) using organic and freshly prepared sattvic ingredients, specifically for 4th trimester.

    Depending on your needs, each meal delivery consists of a breakfast dish, main entree, side dish, snack item, and a healing beverage.

    Our menu changes seasonally and is tailor-made for mama. Example Menu:

    • Lactation Cookies

    • Almond Date Shake

    We are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions and needs. All food is prepared in nontoxic cookware and stored in glass containers.
